Over Six Hundred Tsunamis per Year

You may have concerns about the disasters in Africa and Asia and feel called to help. I encourage you to hear the call and to contribute. And I suggest that you include in your thinking the on-going disasters around the world that aren't calling as loudly with the TV news.

For instance: 815 million people in the developing world are undernourished. They consume less than the minimum amount of calories essential for sound health and growth. We know that as starvation, a slow tidal wave of death.

That's a number of people at risk of very personal disaster six hundred times larger than the tsunami devastation.

Think of 600 tidal waves and the devastation.

Compassionate Generosity

I am a strong believer in helping people to live the life they want to live. For some that means having enough food to eat. The Heifer Project is one of the best organizations around for helping people to help themselves. They give a family a heifer or a goat or some rabbits and teach them how to care for them. The family in turn becomes prosperous in this new capital venture, and as part of their agreement they are to pass on the gift by passing on the teaching and a new breeding pair of rabbits, say. It grows exponentially and before long the whole village is raised. It's the best.

I have a goal of raising and donating $250,000 to the Heifer Project by my eightieth birthday. Read my article The Perfect Gift and/or visit their web site: Heifer Project. If you want join this venture with me, you can donate. And if you'd like to share your experience, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks.
