Sacred Landscapes

"It's a fact: People need art. Human beings in all times and all places appreciate and use art to feed their souls."

How to Acquire Sacred Landscapes

You may acquire prints of mine by making an appointment and coming to my display space AKA my therapy office in Madison Park. Call 206.328.2073 for your appointment.

Or, you may acquire prints of mine through the internet. Select the prints that you love and call me or email me to find about its availability. I can ship anywhere in the world so far.

Heads Up

As noted elsewhere, my Sacred Landscapes are varied editions. That means each of the prints from a single plate is unique. I also print limited editions of only 25 prints. What you see on the web may be different from what I may have available.

You benefit in two ways.

  1. Because each print is unique, especially the hand painted versions; you will have a one-of-a-kind work of art, not a mass-produced copy owned by everyone else.
  2. When you order a Sacred Landscape, you have an opportunity to request a custom designed edition just for you.

You see, I don't print all 25 prints at the same time. I print only a few for my own collection, for family, and to display for others. Then I print more as people request them. So, you can ask for one in blue as my friend Sheila did for a version of East of Othello.

I had a beautiful version of the East of Othello in sepia, she wanted blue (see the landscape at the top of the page). I printed three in blue for her to choose from. See?

You have color preferences. you have preferences in how and where you enjoy displaying your art. When you acquire your Sacred Landscapes, you can choose the format that works best for you.

Format Choices

You can get your prints in three formats.

  • Unframed - easy to ship.
  • framed example
Framed - I won't ship these because it is too risky with the glass. Most people prefer to choose their own frames and mat colors to flow with the rest of their space.

If you are in the Seattle area and you choose a framed version, you can get an idea about how the framed Sacred Landscape will look in the photo above.

  • Sacred Landscape Altarpieces - People love this last format.

Sacred Landscape Altarpieces

Sacred Landscape Altarpieces delightfully blend the western bookbinding art with the historical diptych altarpiece form. The diptych is a two-panel folding piece of sacred art. They graced altars all over Europe for the last 1000 years and people would often travel with a small ones to use for worship on their pilgrimages.

I then combine this ancient form of altarpiece with two Japanese art forms. The Japanese used a "book" form similar to western books to contain long pieces of art, like scrolls, but folded. The book was capable of opening fully displaying the entire artwork. It could do this because the book was unbound in the back. The viewer would spread the covers apart to display the entire work.

I took the idea and combined it with the notion of the lovely Japanese screens to create something new and beautiful - Sacred Landscape Altarpieces.

You can enjoy them at home to aid in the creation of a sacred place.

You can take them into work to remind you of your deepest connections.

As holy people and persons of stature in Asia and Europe commonly did during the last millennium, you can carry them with you while you travel.

I delight in transforming any print of mine into a Sacred Landscape Altarpiece for you. Consult with me about your options.
