These delicious mountains are 9000 feet high, and rise out of a 6000-foot high desert plateau.  The energy here filled my heart and I feasted here often, in fact I couldn’t stay away.  I drew this from within the Grounds of the Bear Mountain Lodge, a lodge owned and operated by the Nature Conservancy.  It is a lovely place where I did some great tracking in the predawn during my visit to Silver City, NM for the wedding of my beloved sister in law, Lesley.  In the tracking I found lots of animal sign including peccary, a small wild pig, some great sitings.  It is a magical place of juniper-pinyon wild lands.  A herd of mule deer passed by at twilight in front of where I was standing to draw this.
